A really good collection of the Bible stories featuring women like Deborah, Rahab, Miriam, Bathsheba, Phoebe, and Mary Magdalene. The author/illustrator especially loves tapestries, so she tried to recreate their richness with oil paints. I don't know, I just really liked having all these stories together. ( )

A bit simplistic. I am of the belief that the more you dumb things down for younger children, the dumber they get. It's best to try to stretch their minds, rather than talking down to them. They understand far more than we give them credit for.

This lovely picture book tells the stories of women in the Old and New Testaments. Each story is rather short, but gets most of the story across. The pictures are supposed to depict tapestries and each picture is beautiful and elaborate. ( )
