This book is a good example of historical fiction, because it takes place in the 1870s in Paris. The location is accurately portrayed, as well as impressionistic artists who were actually painting during this timeframe. However, the young girl chasing Degas did not actually exist, making this book a literary piece, rather than informational. ( )

Beautiful depiction of a situation that could have happened, but didn't. Great way to learn about artists before going to an Art Institute. ( )
