So an alien race left clues through history for humanity to find. However there's another alien race who don't want humanity to succeed as it would break their hegemony on space travel. With 12 pieces scattered around history and the world humanity have to prove their ability, a pretty common trope and badly handled it can be very irritating.

This time psychics Delia and Jake have to go back to Roman times and find one of the artefacts. They had a relationship and Delia doesn't trust Jake any more, so he has to prove his love (honestly the man had the patience of a saint, I'd have left her to wallow in her own angst a long time ago!) over and over. Every time he stumbles she knocks him down!

So I kinda liked the plot but the romance didn't really work for me in this story. ( )
