Very clever and amusing once again. Excellent series. The whole snarky self-aware/meta commentary and asides of the unknown and probably unreliable narrator is a trip. Very fun, witty, and eccentric, which elevates the fairly routine plot which is the usual hodgepodge of secret societies and clever and brave children fighting evil with no help from the clueless adults around them. My daughter and I have enjoyed reading these together. (

Despite what the title says this book is good. At chapter eleven I switch to audio book and finish it in one day. I like how there major thing that change to fit the audio book. Like for chapter 20 instead of investable ink, there a radio broadcast that all staticky. The audio book is narrated by a full cast with bring out the characters and jokes.

The down sizes to audio is I become more aware of the writing quality. Usually I can give a pass if the characters and story are engaging but, the writing doesn’t flow right. It might be the just the narrator.
Another thing I didn’t like is Max-Ernest being allergic to everything feel like a plot devices for this book. (

The evil members of The Midnight Sun are at it again, this time on the hunt for a mystical tuning fork that can create any food the taster has ever had before. Cass and her friends in the Terces Society must try to track down the fork first and prevent the bad guys from using it to create the ultimate magical chocolate.
This series is a hoot, and I love that Charlie loves it so much that he wants me to keep reading it, too. So I will, of course, comply. (
