Six short stories all with the common theme of school, friendship and being set in England. The Lie is about a boy who wants to fit in with the tough kids at school and tells a lie that spirals out of control when he steals an i-pod from the courier case on his Dad's motorbike. It is only the friendship of a girl called Amy that stops the whole lie ruining Spencer's life forever. From the Ashes is brilliant - Jack is the main character's older brother and when the school burns down - the whole family is effected as their father is on the board of governors of the school. But is Jack somehow involved, and if he is....what impact will it have on the whole family?
