Summary:
For ten years the Greeks were at war with the Trojans, they battled for the attempt to win back king Menelaus beautiful wife Helen. After these ten years of war and thousands dead the Greeks suddenly fall back from war in which then the Trojans thought they had surrendered. The Trojans were curious to really see what had happened so they went outside the walls of troy to explore the land, where they then discovered a huge wooden horse and a messenger with it. The messenger tells the king that the Greeks have surrendered and have offered this gift to them. The Trojans except the gift and took it into the walls of the city. They also celebrated their victory, but later that night the Trojans were attacked by the Greeks who were in the wooden horse.

Personal Reaction:
This book was interested since it was written as a graphic novel but all the information was covered as if it was a novel. I really liked the book and all of its pictures they were really detailed. I enjoyed this a lot because I love the event and the movie so reading about it made it even more interesting.

Classroom Extension ideas:
1.) Discuss Greek mythology and have the students draw their favorite one
2.) Discuss the history of the event and ask what they thought about things that happened a log time ago ( )

My first venture into the graphic novel was an enjoyable one. I have always had a liking for Greek Mythology and was impressed with how well this tale came together in this format. I was drawn into the sorry with the intense action and evil plots. I was surprised to have my funny bone tickled by the sarcastic humor that was throughout the story. What was funnier was the humor was of a modern sense (I really don't think they told one another "I told you so" when they ended up being right. They were other modern inside jokes that gave a light undertone to an otherwise violent story. I thought the balance of serious to funny was pulled off perfectly. ( )
