1st of Taylor's books about ghosts in and around Williamsburg. This is much better than the second book he does give history on each location and generally there's a picture. But most have some "eyewitness" account on what happened there. Also what was odd about this one to me was that soe of the eyewitness accounts date back to the early 1800s. A couple of the stories of note: a portrait that expresses it's dislike when moved from it's place in the house by jumping off the wall or just a general ruckus. Another a place called Dancing Point where nothing will grow and hasn't for centuries.. It is said that the land owner and the devil had a dancing contest there with the devil being the loser. ( )

An interesting collection of local ghost stories from environs of Williamsburg, VA. Sometimes the author's writing style is more dryly journalistic than perhaps it should be for a book of ghost stories, but one must admire Mr. Taylor's collections of ghost stories as good local history and folklore. ( )
