It will fit perfectly in a calligrapher’s repertoire of tricks. With this reference as a guide, you can create any artwork to illustrate your lettering. This book is vast in its coverage. The subjects covered begin with a materials and basic techniques section that explains what you might need to get started. It then covers subjects from transparent objects, (including glass, water, surf), various metal surfaces, earth textures, skies and weather, wood grains, trees, translucent florals, still lifes, and fur to feathers.
The book includes beautiful examples of finished artwork and step by step instructions to create the images that you desire. Using the directions for techniques in the book, you can create large works of art. Choosing just one or two would be enough for cards and books for a lifetime. This book would be a great addition to anyone’s library. It would be suitable for anyone from novice to experienced artists.
