A tale of recycling; all about a plastic bag and its many uses. A bit didactic.

Best suited to children in elementary school, Bag in the Wind, written by Ted Kooser and illustrated by Barry Root, is a thought-provoking story about an empty plastic bag. Although still usable, it has been discarded. It is subsequently unearthed at a landfill and is blown back into a world of plants, animals and people.

Beautifully written and illustrated, Bag in the Wind is a picture book that will challenge older readers to think about ways to reuse resources.

This book follows the life of a plastic bag which was thrown away. It flies all over the place and is used for many different things, showing the reader to not throw them away but to reuse or recycle them. I definitely think that the story and illustrations were both very strong in this book. The soft, muted colors that Root used were quite beautiful and really grabbed my interest. ( )
