Telling tales later in his life to a Christian scribe, it tells the adventures of Dinn Keene in his youth and his love for the Chieftain's daughter and how this changed the course of his life, and how his life changed with some understanding of Christianity and the errors he makes that cause problems.

It's not a bad read, I just didn't really feel that it was an older person speaking, maybe a slightly older than in the story person but not really an older person looking back with experience at what had gone before. Interesting and probably closer to reality than many, still treats the Paganism versus Christianity debate in a very black and white manner. ( )
