Perfect for intermediate students. It's about Buzz and his pet fly playing hide and seek. When Fly hides in a garbage can, they go on an adventure to find him. Good for early chapter book readers in the classroom.

Hi! Fly Guy is formatted with pictures and very little words. Its a good transition for students moving into chapter books. I would have this in a 2nd grade and up classroom to build skills of reading chapter books. I think this book can be a good partner read. This book shows the humorous relationship between a boy and a fly with little words and illustrations.

1. I would recommend this book to 1st or 2nd graders. Or students whoa re just beginning to read chapter books.
2.In this book a boy bumps into a fly and the boy is amazed because the fly can say his name "Buzz" they become quite good friends. He needed a pet for a pet show kind of thing for class so he used the fly as his pet. The students make fun of him originally then he ends up showing him cool flying tricks and he ends up winning the smartest pet award.
3. I would recommend this book to younger students. It has an easier to follow plot as well as a silly and engaging book.

This is a great early chapter book that is silly and fun but also speaks to using your own individual strengths. I would definitely have this on my shelf and could see some little goof balls loving it.

This short chapter book is another from the fly guy series. In this book fly guy and Buzz play football. The game is almost over, and their team is losing, so they do their secret play and win. I think this book is good for primary school kids, to introduce chapter books. I think the sports aspect will also be drawing to some children. It also teaches problem solving, in the way that they find a way to win the game.

Book for students who can read but are trying to transition to harder chapter books. Fly guy is buzz best friend. They play hide and seek together, until fly guy gets stuck in a garbage can heading to the dump. Buzz follows the truck to save fly guy, and eventually does.

This is a short chapter book about a kid named Buzz looking for a pet. He catches a fly and names him fly guy, to enter the pet show. He is told flies can't be pets and gets sad, but fly guy impresses the judges and wins an award. I think that this would be a good book for primary school kids, to learn how to read chapter books. It also tells the message to not give up.

This cute book is about a guy names Buzz and his new pet fly. Buzz was looking for a new pet and caught fly, although fly was not happy, until Buzz fed him food. They qualified for the pet show after fly did some awesome tricks! This made everyone very happy.

I think this book would be very helpful for a primary age to help with developing readers 2. This is a fun and easy read for students to read easy words, but also to look at picture to help them see more meaning to the text.

I would recommend this book to students at an intermediate level. This book is about a young boy named Buzz and his pet, Fly, who plays hide and seek. The fly ends up hiding in a garbage can just as the garbage man comes by and takes it away. Buzz and his father chase the garbage truck all the way to the town dump, where they find a "zillion" of flies. At first, Buzz is sad because he thinks he has lost his pet forever, but he remembers that they were playing hide and seek and tells his pet fly that he has given up. Then, his pet fly shows up, and they go back home. This book would be great to have in my classroom, especially for students that are just starting to read chapter books.

This book would be appropriate for intermediate readers or primary readers if read aloud.
This book is about a boy named Buzz and his newly found pet fly named Fly Guy who he attempts to enter into a pet show.
This book would be useful in helping students transition out of picture books.

This book is good for students at an intermediate level. A boy runs into a fly and keeps it in his jar, where he discovers that it can say his name, "Buzz". Everyone tells him that flies are not pets; they are pests, but the fly proves them wrong and wins an award for being the smartest pet. I would introduce this book into my classroom when I feel like my students are ready to start diving into chapter books.

Like the paranoid child in this book, I too worry that I'm balding whenever I lose a few hairs.

Unlike the overly literal child in this book, I have no problem understanding figurative language.

This book is about three brothers, who are noodles, and they are all named Mac. They believe that they can see the future and they go through their day realizing that they truly can't predict the future.

A fun little trifle of a book, Fly Guy is too small to join the team but gets put in and helps win with a clever and gross 'secret' move. Clearly, Rudy has more plot and character development in it, but your average K-2 students are going to enjoy Tedd Arnold's 'Hooray For Fly Guy' quite a bit more than that.
I recommend for big people reading to children, reluctant readers in Kindergarten through early 2nd grade, and those who like sports, humor, heroic behavior, and gross stuff like boogers.

A fun, silly book for kids. The young main character has discovered that things are falling off of him and he does not know why. The book deals with what intrigues young kids, the stuff our bodies get rid of. The illustrations are great and lively. One can see a kid would be worried about losing parts if they did not know what was going on. This book reassures kids that this is all normal.

I feel bad giving this a low review. Here's why: it is kind of cute. The illustrations are engaging. Eagle eyed readers might notice that they are done by the same illustrator who does Fly Guy!

BUT I can't in good conscience do this story in a storytime. At first the Valentine is making fun of the boy for being in love. Sure, some will hate the book being about love in the first place (and I really don't care). But it's more the other story extensions that bother me. So I shall avoid them......
