L’auteur propose au lecteur de découvrir l’alphabet runique, dans ses différents aspects, historiques, culturels et magiques. Derrière l’approche technique des runes, ce livre introduit également au panthéon nordique et aux modes de vie des sociétés traditionnelles. Une partie de l’ouvrage traite des Mystères féminins.

It's an easy read for the most part. The author's train of thought tends to wander away in a few places. Certainly not a historically significant book, as it's written mostly from personal experience and perspective. However, if you're looking for a first hand perspective on the subject, this book is a decent read. It wasn't quite what I was looking for, but remains in my library.

Great wonderful book that is very clear and takes a feminine look at not only the runes but the Norse Gods & Goddesses as well. In many books the Goddesses take a back seat, but Freya does a wonderful job at bringng them to the forefront and giving them the respect and attention they deserve. A companion is also available: "Songs of Yggdrasil:Shamanic Chants". Highly recommended!!!

After my 1992 version fell apart(over reading) I bought this new one with a great CD in it. Same book but with a some extras... still good if not better
