One really good essay on the problem with portrayals of women in the series, several decent or mediocre essays, and a few duds. I'm ready to pass this book on to someone else.

From the Harry Potter volume of the popular series about pop culture and philosophy we`ll know if Hogwarts was a good school, if wizards has a soul and does it matter if Dumbledore was gay.

As with many other books made up of smaller essays, this is really hit-or-miss depending on how you like the individual pieces and what you ultimately learn from them.

I'm not a philosopher myself, so deeper discussion on philosophical themes is always welcome to me, even more when presented in the context of pop culture. In particular, the section about love, it's meaning and consequences is particularly good for a lost twentysomething like me.

Get it, share it, reread it. You won't be disappointed… (mais)

Usually I would read this kind of book faster, but I had a number of other books to finish first. This book is a good shorthand coverage of philosophy. It introduces the main ideas and sets a few paragraphs to explaining them and who propounded the ideas. It talks somewhat of the effects that these new ideas had, but it doesn't go too far into depth. Since it does that, it would make a good introduction to philosophy and it's main historical ideas.
