Very gritty and real feeling MC. Definitely has a trigger. I would have enjoyed this more if the transitions had been smoother. I was confused at times of who it was that was talking which pulled me out of the story.

Ice is a cold hearted bastard, he's president of the Eko chapter of the Royal Bastards. He's an unapologetic killer who likes his sex on the dark side.

Haley is an Old Lady, but her man died years ago and she's been lost ever since. When she is given a job in Vegas old memories freshen her grief but also give her an opportunity to finally lay it to rest and live again.

These two are just like the author describes Fire and Ice, they butt heads and clash and then burn up in flames together. I loved how Haley stood her ground with Ice, just as much as when she submitted to his dominance.

They live in a criminal world and none of that is sugar coated, nor are their dark desires of rough sex and breath play. Prepare to be pulled in to the dark side.

I'm glad I held on for book two of this series as I enjoyed these characters a lot. The writing style improved as did the transition in the chapters. There were still some areas that I had to re-read in order to not get confused. I liked that it picked up from a different standpoint from where it had gone to a face to black type scene in the first book. Great epilogue! Loved that and it made me smile!

I've been on a MC kick lately and in doing so discovered this author. There were many aspects that I liked about this book and a couple of others not so much. It lacked fluidity in a few parts and the transition from part to part left me confused in a few parts but for the most part I really enjoyed the characters. I needed to see where it was going so that speaks volumes about the potential this book had.

Looking forward to the next one.
