A comic book about the town that I was born and raised in, and still live in?

And it's about all of us just disappearing?

Hell yes, sign me up.

I'm really impressed with how faithful the artist is with the localities, and how we skip around to neighbouring towns.

Looking forward to reading the rest of this one.

Five stars for awesome Old Man Hawkeye appearance! He’s my favorite thing about the whole Old Man Logan storyline.

A swansong for Logan, who is dying thanks to the adamantium coating in his skeleton. Logan longs to return to his timeline, but before he goes he needs to settle the whole potential for the devastation that Mysterio (!) has.

Having only read the original Millar Old Man Logan and this, I was missing a bit of context for certain parts of the story but overall I enjoyed this.

This was really good! Though I definitely called that resolution in my X-Men Blue Volume 6 review last week. It was the only thing that made sense narratively. Didn't expect that last page reveal though. But it's comics, so not totally unexpected.

Fun, but at the end of the day, it's an Externals story which is... tough to care about to say the least.

This was fantastic! Not quite on par with Hickman's arc or Marauders for me, but very very good nonetheless. Some excellent Glob Herman and Boom-Boom character moments that I hope get expanded on further in Ayala's run.

It's the kids book! And the kids are pretty alright. And also hella badass. Glob and Hisako in particular shine bright in this one, and Brisson does a great job with them and the rest of the group.

This was really good? A lot of interesting discussion about the cost of change and revolution and if that cost is worth it. Also some cool fights and junk and some Horseman redesigns of a few characters that were really fun

This was fine? Nothing special, and everything where people are mourning "deaths" at this point in continuity feels flat. I know they think everyone's dead, but still. The "there's an alternate universe but also some people are still around in the main one" conceit just didn't work for me.

But at least they've resolved the stuff for Rachel from Extermination. Just in time for a complete upheaval of the status quo.

This was solid! I'm still confused by the fact that the big cliffhanger at the end of New Mutants: Dead Souls seems to have been completely forgotten and characters are popping up in ways that feel like a continuity mistake, but maybe (hopefully) that will get sorted somewhere else? I hope? Angsty baby Cable continues to be angsty and bad at life, but it's nice seeing X-Force teach him stuff that he once taught them.

This is the typical "spy comes out of retirement to kick some butt and save some random naive person" but I like it and I will continue to read it eventually. Plot moved at a decent place.

Artwork is okay for this type of genre.

The story seemed a bit cliche. Typical anti hero with a disgruntle person out to get revenge. Artwork and random violence were good.

I love how they call Batman out for beating up the same villains and just sending them to prison. Finally a real vigilante that gets the job done. I am hoping that there are more comics coming out with Clownhunter. This was good!

At this point I still prefer Starship Troopers but I'm going to stick with this alien warfare comic to see where it's headed.

Simple set-up that gets us into the action fast, great way to start off the story.

The story is starting to get a little more complicated, another faction is introduced and the main characters gets a small amount of back story information.

Not a bad reintroduction to the classic Captain Canuck. The stories ranged very much in tone and quality, but it gets the reader where they need to be before the start of the story proper.

This was good. Artwork was great. Story made sense (as far as bring them back from the dead can). Not a massive Cyclops fan, but Marvel did wrong killing him off, especially as they did.

REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

Summary:
Old Man Logan’s world is still out there after he’s gone from it. The villains still rule despite the Red Skull being gone. Doom is making moves to consolidate his rule. He’s hunting his old allies who aren’t living up to his standards, his demands of allegiance. He’s also hearing rumors of legacy Avengers roaming the wastes. Dani Cage, Luke and Jessica’s daughter, is the new Thor. There’s Bruce Jr...yeah, that Bruce. A new Antman. And a super soldier escaped from Doom’s larder. Villages are being destroyed. People killed. It’s time for a new Avengers to arise.

Genre:
Marvel Comics
Superheroes
Apcalypse
Post-Apocalypse

Why this book:
It’s still OML’s world even if he’s moved on. And I’m a sucker for these kinds of stories.
_________________________________________________
Cover Art:
The inside bumper art depicting the cover of the Baron Blood issue is incredible.

The Feel:
Very much in the OML vein, just like it needed to be.

Favorite Character:
Bruce Jr.

Least Favorite Character:
Green Goblin. He’s always been a scenery chewing character and continues to be.

Plot Holes/Out of Character:
There’s no way the Enchantress would follow that old fool Goblin, even being subservient to Doom through him. Just doesn’t jibe.

Favorite Scene:
When Doom tore open Doc Ock’s carapace...damn...just damn. Course it’s sort of what I was expecting them to find inside Doom’s armor too, but…

Favorite Quote:
Don’t touch Bruce hair!

Hmm Moments:
I wondered if Old Man Victor was dead and that those are all Doombots instead. Answered before the end of the story, but it’s a thought that occurs.

Grant’s luggage is epic. Captain PTSD much.

WTF Moments:
Killing Ultron, that Ultron especially, is just meanness. Settled down, mechanic Ultron isn’t a threat to anyone or anything.

Meh / PFFT Moments:
Drunk, defeated, longing for the end Count Nefaria...so, he went from power drunk to drunk-drunk.

The Lieutenants of Lateveria are a very Silver Age type concept.

The Sigh:
Dani and Bruce Jr are so naive thinking Doom isn't coming for their little community too. He knows they're there. Unexpected, unpredicted sudden rainfalls striking a single area of the continent that is under Doom’s control, that's the kind of thing he’d notice. And I wonder how big a Gamma signature Jr has. And how much background Gamma scater there is from the actions and deaths of the Hulk Gang in Old Man Logan.

Wisdom:
Doom being Doom is probably bored out of his megalomaniacal mind in a world where he and the villains won.

Juxtaposition:
Dwight has a helluva hard-on for Not-Captain America. What was he supposed to do let Blood fart around until he figured out an escape plan. It's like Dwight hasn't been growing up in the Wasteland after the villains' victory. And dammit Dwight, just dammit.

The Unexpected:
The Avengers of the Wasteland seem rather schizophrenic about who they're going to kill and who they're not going to let live as an example of how good they are. These characters would not survive the zombie apocalypse.

Missed Opportunity:
2nd generation/3rd generation villains.

Get Off My Lawn:
The Enchantress was defeated too easily.

Pacing:

Last Page Sound:
I don't think I want more of this. This was good, but I don't know that there needs to be more story. The villains are defeated. The heroes are rebuilding the world. Ta-da.

Read as individual issues.
On the whole art is good.
I was confused for a lot of it at the beginning.
I'm gutted Anole is the one to betray mutantkind. It felt out of character.
Although was he at the final battle? Did he 'die' with everyone else? Yeah, I don't believe any of them are actually dead...
