The third and final issue of Matt Broersma's Insomnia is an interesting end to the series, and interweaves characters from the first two volumes around the languid mystery of "The Company." This time around, Broersma's artwork is a little simpler and sparse, but still well-executed and enjoyable to look at. The story itself is enigmatic and perhaps a little cliched in some of the individual scenarios, but manages to exude a sense of world-weariness that is arch yet entertaining enough.

Matt Broersma's thick, imprecise use of watercolor washes to enhance his minimalist pen-work makes for a loose, easy approach to the graphic elements of this story, in perfect keeping with the enjoyably slow pace of the narrative itself.… (mais)
