West Cork por Sam Bungey
it's pretty good. if you listen or watch a lot of these crime things it starts off as your standard "we used to leave our doors unlocked" but then goes on to profile the main suspect fairly deeply coming to no conclusions.

Learned a lot about the community of West Cork, its people and policies, and the life of Sophie and Ian.
Highly recommended to fans of long-form true crime audio.

“This much we do know: Sophie Toscan du Plantier was murdered days before Christmas in 1996, her broken body discovered at the edge of her property near the town of Schull in West Cork, Ireland. The rest remains a mystery.
Gripping, yet ever elusive, join the real-life hunt for answers in the year’s first not-to-be-missed, true-crime series. Investigative journalist, Sam Bungey, and documentarian, Jennifer Forde, guide listeners through the brutal, unsolved murder and the tangled web of its investigation, while introducing an intricate cast of characters, a provocative prime suspect, and a recovering community whose story begs to be heard.”
West Cork is absolutely riveting. It’s the true-crime story of the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in 1996, and the long investigation, mostly surrounding Ian Bailey, the chief suspect. The narration is well done, so many characters and interviews and clues. Keeps your interest from beginning to end, leaving you wanting more. No conclusion is drawn or accusation made, but Ian Bailey presents himself as a very unlikeable man. Had me searching the internet to see if there was any hope this case could be resolved. Well worth the listen. I wanted to extend my daily walk just to hear more of this fascinating story.… (mais)

GrandmaCootie | 8 outras críticas | Aug 26, 2018 | A free download from audio about a true unsolved crime that occurred in West Cork. The authors do a bit of investigative reporting. It was okay, some of what they had for evidence was difficult to hear but the represented the quality of what they had to work with. The questions all remain, this does not provide any answers but it was interesting.
