David Catrow is the illustrator of many books for children, including Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon, a Book Sense Best Book of the Year Finalist and winner of the Georgia Children's Picture Storybook Award; We the Kids, an illustrated version of the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States; and I Wanna Iguana. He lives in Ohio with his wife, Deborah, their two children, and their two dogs.

With very few words (many of them prepositions), Catrow tells the story of a fly causing mayhem during a concert. The illustrations are gross and funny. This would be a great choice for a struggling reader because it's fun and simple. I imagine after a few paired readings many children will be able to memorize it and then read it fluidly.

I'm not a huge fan of Catrow's illustration style, but it's a cute story and kids will enjoy the humor.

This book is appropriate for all ages. It introduces the Preamble to the Constitution. The topic is a great to introduce a unit of study and discuss with students. This book can be an effective instrument in promoting critical thinking.
