What starts out as seedy detective fiction takes the proverbial left turn at Albuquerque and dives into mythological fantasy. Hard-boiled detective Ulysses Shade serves up his daily doses of acerbic wit in L.A. sunlight only to end up pursuing the forces of darkness around the world. He is ably assisted by the most unusual allies one can scrape up as they encounter legends, talismans and creatures that don't exist in our modern world ....right?
Overall it was a fun read. It would make a great special effects laden action movie.… (mais)
