Jean-Paul Didierlaurent (1962–2021)

Meh.....it was okay. It was an enjoyable quick read....it just wasn't a great read.....I have a hard time believing this is a International best seller. It seriosly lacked both character and story development.

A French bestseller I read this in a few hours. Enjoyable enough.

I found this a quirky, refreshing tale about the power of words to transform lives. Only the French...I immediately checked to see if the author had other books. Just one, as sadly he died in 2021. Oops and I have already read it.

The Reader on the 6.27 is a story of loneliness and regret while at the same time finding itself to be a love story in which our characters long for that wonderful and painful thing that makes their hearts beat a little faster and their eyes widen a little more each day. I really enjoyed the mixture of poetic tone and relatable humour in the book and thought it was a really easy and quick read. I recommend it.
