Fantastic collection

I live for anthologies. It is how I have discovered new authors that soon become favorites. This collection was very different in regards to themes. The only common denominator was fire. I liked watching the stories tenfold. Some stories were left with a to be continued and others were succinct stories.

Definitely enjoyed this anthology.

OMG. This may not be the twistiest of twisted stories I've ever read, but it has plenty of twists and turns of its own. It's really just wow. It was surprising and really got under my skin.

Nicholas is the heir to the Duke of Oakfield. He's got to follow a tradition in choosing his wife, whether he wants to or not. It's a terrible tradition, but he's trapped.

Victoria has spent her 21 years stuck languishing in her father's house. She's rarely left the house and her only friend is the maid's daughter. When her father suddenly appears and tells her it's time for her to take her place in society. Victoria is very excited to finally get a chance to experience life, right until she finds out exactly what's going to happen.

I LOVE Victoria. I can't even emphasize how much I love her. She's strong, feisty, brave, and really not afraid to fight for anything. She has no problem with telling everyone exactly what she thinks of them and their actions. There are going to be some very sorry people when Victoria is done, I think. I went back and forth on Nicholas. Sometimes I liked him, sometimes I didn't. He struggled a lot, and I enjoyed seeing what was going on in his head while he struggled with what was going on. This book really needed the dual POV, I can't see how it would've worked with just a single POV, and I'm glad I didn't have to.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I really enjoy reading Anna Edwards books. I enjoy reading paranormal romances with shifters. Put them together, and you end up with a book that I am so excited to read. And I totally was.

Isobel loved Zain with all that she had. When he walked away from her 5 years ago, she didn't think she would survive, and she blamed herself. Now she's living in a kind of half-life, supporting her father, a senator who keeps trying to tell people that shifters are real. None of them believe her father, but she knows the truth, even if she's not telling her dad, because she saw Zain shift into a bear.

Isobel may have thought that Zain abandoned her, but what she doesn't know is that he has always been behind the scenes watching her. He doesn't want anyone but her, but he doesn't want to separate her from her family. He knows that she's his mate, but he can't have her, especially since her dad is so crazed on the subject of shifters.

Isobel is such a strong character. She goes through some stuff and manages to come through it, not entirely unscathed, but still strong, and able to get stronger because she's a survivor. Zain is a wonderful caring man, even if he's misguided sometimes. He is really protective, which means that he sometimes makes choices for her that he shouldn't do, and takes her choices away from her. Isobel has no problem with letting him know when he's done that though. Nuka, boo hiss, is back and causing more trouble, but this time, it's even worse. I can't wait to see what happens due to things that he did in this book. It's going to be really interesting. I would love to see Isobel's brother get his story because he deserves to be happy too.

Anna Edwards is a new to me paranormal author. I hadn't read any of her books before this one, but that's going to change as soon as possible. I really like her world a lot, and find it to be interesting.

Teagan is an Asiatic wild dog shifter. In the shifter world, her species are looked down upon and seen as the vermin of the world, even though there aren't a whole lot of them in the whole world. She has problems with that discrimination her whole life, which is why she went to join the Glacial Blood pack. They are a multi-species pack, and no one is going to look down on her for being an excitable, clumsy, happy-go-lucky Asiatic wild dog.

Tyler is a tortured wolf. He has secrets in his past. But, in his present he is a crack hacker for the Glacial Blood pack. He is also their cook, and well-loved. He sees his future in Teagan. He likes her a lot, but he isn't sure if she likes him too, until she starts to teach him how to dance and they nearly kiss.

I really liked this series and the various characters. I liked the way that the traits of the various animals carry over to their people form, like Teagan being clumsy, or a bear shifter loving honey. To me, it made them seem like a much more integrated whole than you see in some series where the shifter sees themselves as two separate entities, their human side and their shifter side. I'm definitely going to follow this series so that I can keep up with the characters and the entire story. If you like PNR and good plots, check this one out.
