Excellent bedtime story from one of my favorite picture book creators and his daughter. And right on time for our "Dream Big" summer reading theme!

This book is funny! Oliver wanted a baby brother more than anything in the world. Unfortunately, he got a baby sister instead. He searched high and low looking for a baby brother replacement. He never found one that was as good and smart as his sister. As his sister grew up he accepted her more and enjoyed her companionship. He no longer was searching for a baby brother. One day, his mom got pregnant and he thought finally – now I get a baby brother. Then, out popped another girl. I’d use this book in my class if there is a student who would become a big brother or sister. I’d also use this book to each acceptance and you should be happy with what you have. Young Oliver Keaton wants nothing more than a baby brother. When his sibling is born and turns out to be a girl, his quest for a baby brother continues. This picture book hilariously addresses a common issue that comes up when a child gets a new sibling. While trying to exchange his sister for a baby boy, Oliver soon realizes that having a baby sister is not so bad after all in fact, he enjoys her presence.This is a pretty decent book for parents who about to introduce a new baby to read to the older child.… (mais)
