As with this specific series, you've got (if not insta-love) insta-proclamations between Rafe and Quinn, who have unknowingly crushed hard on each other since they were teens. They went from zero to 60 in 3 seconds flat once they meet again, but that's how all the characters have fallen. In between all these revelations and Rafe trying to get his shattered life back, there's a crazy murderer on the loose to make things a bit more exciting, further pushing these two together.

I appreciated the absence of the uber, overprotective alpha male that has been present in the last three books (tho the entire Morgan clan made up for that missing element in bucketfuls to the point of absolute ridiculousness). Quinn and Rafe were on equal footing in their unique dynamic - something I liked more than the usual push pull. However if you've gotten this far, be reassured that this had all the standard Sinners bits and parts, with grand love and great smex nicely wrapped up in a lot of pretty words. Good enough.… (mais)

Wow. That was one seriously f*@#ed up reveal. I mean, I kinda knew what to expect. One can't not have certain assumptions regarding Cole's past, but the truth still hurts and shocks and devastates.

Regardless, Cole has gone full circle. He's been through personal hell on more fingers than he can count, and has slowly returned to living his life fully. And it shows. It's seen through every relationship he has, and of course most importantly, with Jae. Both of them have endured so much, and truly, the greatest gift is each other and finally, them wholeheartedly embracing that.

Like many other reviewers have said, that though bittersweet, this was a great conclusion to the series. One can be reassured that Cole will continue to survive and thrive. He's going to be all right. More than all right.

To be honest, I didn’t expect another book in this series. Miki, along with his best friend Damien, are alive and whole after a horrific car accident that killed two of their former band members. They’ve finally healed and found love, and they’ve resurrected themselves as Crossroads Gin with Rafe and Forest joining the ranks. As they start their first tour together, making music and new fans should be a piece of cake. Unfortunately, it’s anything but.

As Ford takes the reader to visit with each member and their partner (of the infamous Morgan clan), she reveals that there’s still a whole lot of issues and problems brewing. Can’t these guys catch a break?? Apparently not, as they hit personal and external roadblocks while traveling the US. New developments have arisen and new challenges await them as a mystery is left hanging over their heads involving Miki.

Overall, this was pretty damn romantic seeing how each couple has progressed. Damn smexy too. Really, no complaints here. Don’t worry, the ending all but assures us there’s more to come.

There’s definitely murder and mayhem here, but despite that, this was also one of Ford’s lighter fares, and it was highly enjoyable.

Rook is a retired thief, determined to go the straight and narrow despite detective Montoya’s drive to see him behind bars. He doesn't deny his attraction to the sexy cop, but Rook doesn’t dare think anything more will come of it. They’re like cats and dogs. Oil and water. Day and night. Inherent enemies to be forever at odds.

Despite wanting to put Rook away, Dante grudgingly admits that Rook still has high principles regardless of his criminal past. Dante’s trying to right some wrongs, and he’s determined to go by the book, especially when Rook becomes a murder suspect. However, as more of Rook’s associates end up dead, the facts just don’t add up, and it gets harder and harder for Dante to deny Rook’s innocence as well his attraction to the compelling man.

This is when the Ford formula works. Damaged antihero needs equally damaged hero to heal and be shown that he’s worthy of love and happiness. Add mystery and suspense while the protagonists mainly work against each other in solving the whodunit. To keep things lively, throw in one funny cantankerous partner, an equally grouchy grandpa, and a loveable ex drag queen uncle, and this was all sorts of good entertainment.

To sum it up - smexy smex, feels, and action with penultimate proclamations equals success. I’m quite happy to know there’s a sequel waiting for me!
