Now I know how Keith Richards does it!

I thought I was reading an apocalyptic rapture-type story and for the first two chapters, I was. (sticking my tongue out and gagging at the eyeballs charred in their sockets). Then we skip to the future. I am used to reading days of old tales where in the past there was magic and all manners of creatures, so having them evolve from the ashes was an interesting aspect.

Joshua Griffith has a way of creating dialogue that really hits you. Even in this fast-paced apocalyptic tale, there were some moments that had me laughing out loud. I think this is because the characters are developed in such a way that it makes you feel as if you’re right there with them, hurting in their bad moments and laughing in their good. This was a different take on the apocalypse from other books in the genre that I’ve read, and this is what kept me flipping pages. A mix of religious beliefs and fantasy makes for a memorable read.… (mais)

This was one of the funniest and most original books I’ve picked up in a long time. While I don’t know how many books I’ve read about the zombie apocalypse, I don’t know how many of them have been from the POV of the zombie…except of course for Warm Bodies.

This book was so much better though.

We follow Bobby through all his adventures from his escape from the grave to his first taste of brains to his time stealing a tank to his experience with a tornado. As Bobby finds himself in the new world, his adventures become more and more wild.

It’s a shame this story was so short because I absolutely adored it.

Recommended for fans of the movie Shaun of the Dead.
