I really enjoyed this book - it is an interesting take on the crime novel, and although the subject matter is religious in nature it isn't all 'preachy'. The story is follows the actions of a vicar after a man bursts in on one of his services having been assaulted. The man subsequently dies and his body disappears from the mortuary. It is difficult to say much more without giving away too much of the plot, but suffice to say that this is not a straightforward case of 'whodunnit' and the vicar is left questioning both his faith and his sanity as he tries to make sense of what has happened. The ending is brilliant.
