Jeong Koo Jeon

Probably over half of the book is extracts from other authors’ literature (a majority of which from Calvin’s Institutes). Weaving through these are Jeon’s introductory and summarizing statements. Pitched against each other are finer but important theological arguments between the tradition of Westminster Standards and that of the “Federal Visionists”.

Jeon presents his case not so much by prowess in argumentation as by lengthy quotes from others. In fact, the parts that are his own writing soon become monotonic with repetitive catchphrases. Even one who is sympathetic with his theses may find this book bland and sophomoric.… (mais)
