I really like the different genres within this book. Everything from animals, to environmental science etc.
I thought this was a good book to have because it is an anthology to poems that range from Shakespeare to nursery rhymes. Without breaking the bank it is a good book to have for easy access to some good pieces of literature. A way to explore and later go into depth with a author or style of writing.
The name doesn't suggest that the poems are gender bias, but it also presents some discussion on why there was a need to name it "for Girls". Good topics to discuss: generations of readers, gender, poetry, pink a tuff color or not, significance placed on colors, Frost, Dickinson, Hughes, Silverstein… (mais)
