The two time New York City police commissioner opens up about his life, inside 50 years of law enforcement leadership, and offers chilling stories of Islamism after 911. He begins with his own biography and how he was attracted to law enforcement in the first place. He is definitely an overachiever since while being a part of the Marine Corps reserve, and an active member of the police force, he also attained advanced educational degrees. The basic theme is vigilance and Kelly had been around not only for the critical 911 event but also the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. Kelly provides a unique insight into the extensive policing an anti-terrorism work that he has done. He outlines just how effective the New York Police Department has been in thwarting Islamism, and other institutions, such as the FBI, should take note. Kelly is also a strong advocate and he provides a vigorous defense of the stop and frisk policy based on a constitutional application of Terry versus Ohio.

As a long time fan of Ray Kelly, I was interested to learn more about his background and his experiences. I liked his personal insights and especially the details of the 16 failed terrorist attempts on our country.
