This is a great informational text for students who love animals! This text has many cool facts on sea turtles for the young reader who wants to know more. This book makes a poor read aloud as it states many facts with little to no storyline. This book is also great for those young readers who need a challenge.

This book is a informational book. I think that this would be good for a 3rd-5th grade class. This book has a lot of information and it would be hard to track and understand for any younger grades.

This book is all about sea turtles. Each page included facts and information about sea turtles. There are terms, vocabulary, and all the information you would want to know about sea turtles.

I think the book is great. This book is a great way to explain a lot of complex information to students in a way that is fun and easy to understand. I would use this in my classroom as a prompt to a speech. I would have each of my students pick a sea animal. I would read this book and create an example presentation using the sea turtle and using the information from this book. This would be a great way to introduce research on a very small scale.

This book is a great stepping stone to introducing informational texts to younger grades. The content is at the level of younger grades but it is laid out as a informational text. I love how the text is comprehendible by young students but also is full of content. This would be a great book to have in any classroom library. I have found the national geographic is great for any students who have very specific interests, as national geographic books have a large variety of specific informational books. This would be a great book to keep in a classroom library!!

Summary: This book talks about the structures of bees and how they interact with their ecosystem. The bees pollinate plants that make fruit. It also explains how these structures prepare food for themselves. This book then describes the life cycle of a bee.

Use in Classroom: This book could be used for two different science units (structures or life cycle). This book has fun facts that are engaging for students. This book includes images with labels.

4-LS1-1. Construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction.
Structures: The hairs on the bees legs and their long tongues

This is an informational book about the purposes of different kinds of spiders. It talks about what they do, what they eat, and even how they make webs. All of the spiders talents and daily life are talked about and illustrated in this book. Each section has its own chapter that is specific tone aspect of a spider. Examples of this are webs, spiders food, a spiders body. There are surprisingly 11 sections or chapters in this book to inform your students. In the back a glossary and Diagram are also included! I Think that this book is one of the better informational texts about spiders. It really lays out facts in a fun and engaging way, and also talks about many aspects of spiders that people may not know. I would use this in my library or for reading groups!

This book is about caterpillars and butterflies and the life cycle that caterpillars go through (how they turn into butterflies.) The book goes over the transformation process where caterpillars make cocoons (a chrysalis) when they turn into butterflies. I like this book because it is from a great source and a great informational text about a topic that young kids would be curious about. If I were to use this book with instruction I would use it to teach about life cycles (one that is different from humans.) Students could compare the life cycle to humans and talk about differences. Or they could use it to just learn about what a life cycle is/ that life cycles are a little different for different species.

This is a book about the process in which a caterpillar goes through in order to become a butterfly. This book has many pictures and diagrams that help explain the process. This science text helped me collect science data for reading from my student in the internship. There are descriptive attributes and characteristic events that can be identified on each page. This text is also great for working with sequencing of events of a science text. Lastly, the sentence structure almost follows a pattern, in that there are limited differences in the structure from page to page, which makes the student more comfortable and is great for guided reading. The pictures are very descriptive and beneficial.

This book was an informational text about turtles. It provided many different facts about turtles. There were many pictures that went along with each fact stated in the book. It highlighted the different types of turtles and had pictures of each one. It also used captions to define words that readers might not know in regards to turtles which I found really useful. It also explained how readers could help turtles by picking up garbage, helping them to cross roads, and more. This text was laid out very well and allows readers to understand the facts about turtles easily. I think it is a great beginning informational book for young readers.
