It was my mistake, as I didn't read the fine print. In order to use this book, I found I needed to get Silva's book, so I did. I found it a helpful tool to get even more out of the Method. No, I am not under mind control forcing me to leave a positive review. At least that's what I was told to write.

From the workbook:
"This is an unofficial companion workbook and summary for Jose Silva’s The Silva Mind Control Method. This companion is designed to further your understanding of the book and is designed to help you reflect. This is not the original book.:

The book is "Workbook: The Silva Mind Control Method: A Guide to José Silva's Book: The Definitive Handbook for The Revolutionary Program by the Founder of the World's Most Famous Mind Control Course"

A short workbook that is very interesting and can give the reader an idea of the book itself. I would need to read The Silva Mind Method by Jose Silva to go along with the workbook to get more information. The Workbook is a great addition the the book.
The mind control seems to help many people.
I won a complimentary copy of the Workbook and I gave it a 4 star rating because it gives the reader somewhat of an idea of the method. The opinions are my own.
The book and workbook can be found on Amazon.

Not sure what I expected, but this was better than I expected. It would probably be helpful to have the "Never Split the Difference" book as a companion with this workbook. Would recommend purchasing this book.

Silva Mind Control Workbook

The aim of this workbook appears to be to help someone reading the official book to think about what he’s reading; to give him help contemplating the concepts and implications of what he learns from his readings. Obviously you can’t respond to the questions and suggestions in the Workbook until you’ve at least read the corresponding chapters in the ‘Silva Mind Control Method (SMCM)’ book

In the Introduction to the SMCM Silva lists some potential uses for his Method. In the Workbook you are asked to write down some ways you might use these theoretical powers. If you don’t know what you want, you’re not likely to get it.

Chapter 1, for the most part, describes the physical states of consciousness that are available to you; and the mental efforts that will help you to relax to a point where you can access these states at will. The workbook asks you to home in on any problems or weaknesses in your particular situation that you might want to work on; and where you need to be, mentally, to work on these problems.

Chapter 2 is a brief biography of José Silva, his efforts to gain some control of his emotional (and physical) states, and some of his results. The Workbook asks you to think about which state of consciousness would seem to be most helpful for you to use in attaining control of your life.

Chapter 3 gives you some simple procedures for controlling your mental state and guiding you in the act of relaxing into a different level of awareness. The Workbook gives you further tips on how to relax into a higher state.

Chapter 4 describes other methods to help you enter a higher state, and then speaks of some of the laws that control higher states and how you can use them for your own well-being. The Workbook reminds you of these metaphysical principals and reinforces your awareness of them.

The rest of the 20 Chapters continue in this vain by reminding you of what you’ve just learned, and tried, and to help you focus on the most important concepts and ideas. The Appendices refer to the in-person classes and how they are designed to give you what you’ll need to understand and apply the SMCM.

As for the efficacy of this Workbook, I admit that I had to read the SMCM before I could even begin to understand what the Workbook was trying to do. And my take is that you need to either take the course or read the SMCM before you can hope to accomplish anything by reading the Workbook. This should not be your introduction to Mind Control.

With that said, I can certainly see the benefit of the Workbook reminding me of what I glossed over while reading the SMCM. Having someone re-emphasize the important points goes a long way to strengthening one’s knowledge and commitment to verifying the possibilities presented by José Silva.

The bottom-line question, at this point, however is “does IT work?” A quick summary of my experience:

I took the SMCM course about 45 years ago in Alabama. The first thing the teacher did was memorize the names of all the students in the class—which is almost a parlor trick, but is a trick that all of us can manage with a minimum of effort—Silva does not restrict his teachings only to “advanced” mind tricks. With a one-on-one teacher/student rapport we all quickly learned how to “descend” to the delta level and access the most suggestive part of our minds. For the last day of the 4 day class we were all asked to bring in the name of someone we knew who had a “problem”. The idea was that we would randomly present these names to someone else in the class and each person would then go down to their ‘level’ and try to help the named person we received. I don’t remember the name that I worked on, but I do remember—“woman, a blue haze about her body, but there was a pink haze around her right breast and right arm that didn’t ‘feel’ right. As I described my vision to the class the teacher suggested that I try to change the color from pink to a healthy blue—all the while thinking and recognizing that this should only happen if it was in the best interest of the subject. When I returned back to normal the person who gave me the name stared at me…this woman had just had a mastectomy and, for some reason, felt diminished by the operation and was convinced that the removal of her right breast affected her right arm, which now did not function properly.”

I have no idea how my efforts played out for her—I didn’t maintain contact with anyone in the class. But something else I learned from the class, in general, was a technique for clearing minor headaches with the touch of my hand on another person’s head. Which I can still do to this day—even if I don’t make studied use of the other elements of the System.

As an after-thought...my seeing the state-of-health of another person interms of blue or pink color was my personal experience. The other people in the class envisioned good/bad, healthy/not healthy, etc. in terms that were private for each of them.
