Read it for the other side, if you must read it. These guys have got to have been on Cheney's Energy Task Force: "there is no such thing as a scientific 'consensus' [on global warming] ... The environment is a rallying cry against capitalism and free enterprise ... there is no credible alternative to hydrocarbons in either the near or distant foreseeable future ... Petroleum is the lifeblood of current and emerging world economies. Its use will grow, both in developed and developing nations -- it is the only way ... The problem is public perception ... It is not likely that anyone is going to correct the campaign of global warming and other misinformation promulgated by the environmental ideologues." (p. 142-148) Includes a bunch of truly kitschy color plates ('artistic' renderings of the meanings of the 'colors' of oil). I wish I could give it 0 stars (or a negative amount of stars).… (mais)
