Lovely strange

It takes a really good author to straddle the line between such and comprehensibility and the desire to know more. And most impressive of all, to leave the reader satisfied. Daniel Polansky remains one of my favorite authors.

And I still can't stop laughing at 'snunk'

A familiar trope of smartass antihero albeit well written. 3.5

The Wild Bunch meets Watership Down is a very apt description. I was a huge Redwall nerd growing up (both the cartoon and the novels) so this was a great way to start the new year!

Daniel Polansky is definitely one of my favourites now. I really enjoy his stand-alone fantasy novels immensely. Can't wait to continue reading his work.
