This book describes teaching strategies and instructional adaptations which promote communication and socialization in children with autism. Key areas include treatment of social communication impairments in autism and related disorders and teaching methods presented address the unique cognitive, language and social needs of the child with autism. There are also summarized guidelines on assessment and intervention within the appendices to assist the teacher in strategy implementation.
