Love Jingle!

I read this book without Jingle, the stuffed Hallmark dog. We loved the story. The pictures were delightful. The children I read with have no idea this book goes with a toy. They just enjoyed the story as it is. I, however, do know about the stuffed dog and yes, I do want it. Sometimes it is hard to tell who is the child at my house. I recommend this cute holiday book to any child of any age, especially my age.

Presley the Penguin is off on a new adventure that takes him to the Astrosphere where he finds a new exhibit, the Throttle Rocket. Presley goes inside, and when he pushes a button, the rocket zooms off to Zoopiter. There he has an exciting time with the aliens. After a wonderful party, Captain Presley returns to his rocket and zooms home where he tells everyone about the fun he had on his spectacular voyage.

Here, in book three, Presley’s adventures continue with the same degree of silliness as found in the first two books. Colorful illustrations accompany the rhyming narrative in this oversized book and a new Discover and Play activity board is included, all designed to delight young readers and to immerse them in an interactive read and play experience.

Throughout the story, there are reminders to move Presley to a new place on the board [and make a new discovery]; hidden images and searches for aliens, crowns, and scepters add to the fun. [The game boards from all the Presley books connect for even more fun.]

The only downside here is that, although a new and different Discover and Play game board is included with the book, "Presley's Space Spectacular!" [like book two] does not come with the penguin and his car. [This lowers the rating for the book; disappointing young readers is not a good thing.]

Recommended . . . IF your young reader already has the figurine of Presley in his car that came with the first book. Presley’s space story is exciting and is sure to be a favorite with young readers, but the activity board [and interaction with the book] requires the car . . . .

Presley the Penguin is off on a new adventure, going to visit his cousin, Leslie. He zooms around in his car, finding palm trees and warm sunshine. Floating down the river, he wonders where Leslie might be, and wishes she was with him. Presley’s having so much fun surfing, sliding, and diving, but he misses Leslie, so he makes a wish with Sneaky Tiki. Will Presley’s wish come true?

Here, in book two, Presley’s adventures continue with the same degree of silliness as found in the first book. Colorful illustrations accompany the rhyming narrative in this oversized book and an innovative Discover and Play activity board is included, all designed to delight young readers and immerse them in an interactive read and play experience.

Throughout the story, there are reminders to move Presley to a new place on the board [and make a new discovery]; hidden images and a treasure chest hunt add to the fun. [The game boards from all the Presley books connect for even more fun.]

The only downside here is that, although a different Discover and Play board included with the book, this book does not come with the penguin and his car. [This lowers the rating for the book; disappointing young readers is not a good thing.]

Recommended . . . IF your young reader already has the first book and the figurine of Presley in his car. Presley’s vacation story is cute, but the activity board [and interaction with the book] requires the car . . . .

Presley, who lives in Mount Shiverest, is a most peculiar penguin. He always has questions to ask and today, as he drives around in his little car, he notices that something is happening. Presley isn’t sure what everyone is busily preparing for, but he’s distracted from wondering when he sees the flying reindeer. Presley follows them to their training site and wonders if they’re part of the big “Something” that is going to happen.

When Presley hears a commotion in the ocean, he goes to investigate. What will he find? And what is the special “Something” that is going on in Mount Shiverest?

With just the right amount of silliness, Presley’s adventure is sure to delight young readers. Colorful illustrations accompany the rhyming narrative in this oversized book; an innovative Discover and Play activity board and a Presley figurine driving his car encourage the young reader to interact with the book. The penguin in his car figurine is large enough for small hands to maneuver with ease. When the child presses the button on the car, the horn toots or Presley says something; the headlights come on in order to reveal surprises on the activity board.

Throughout the story, there are reminders to move Presley to a new place on the board [and make a new discovery]; hidden images and a candy cane hunt add to the fun. [Connect game boards from other Presley books for even more fun.]

Recommended.
