Ellen Shi was raised in the suburbs of New Jersey. From a young age, she was often found with her nose in-between the pages of a book and spent many weekends at the library. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Illustration, Ellen loves color, simple shapes, and texture. She is also an avid fan of nature, film, and books. Ellen is also the illustrator of the two series Little Frog and the Four Seasons and Do Animals Animate? from Persnickety Press. [from Persnickety Press]

Illustrator and recent graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design. Ellen's pieces always tell a story through vibrant, masterful color palettes, a beautiful composition, and adorable characters. She achieves layers and depth in her work, despite using mostly flat colors. When she is not drawing or painting, you can find her collecting books, watching films, or researching obscure topics.
