An assassin seeks Darth Vader as he investigates a mysterious planet for the Emperor. Did he really stand a chance? It is odd having Darth Vader as the protagonist instead of the villain.

A quick read, not necessarily bad, but nothing that sets it apart from any of the other Vader comics.

Following Hock's journey from the Clone Wars to its end in the Dark Times era was interesting enough. I typically enjoy these types a stories. You follow a character as they go through some serious stuff, and in the end they reflect on what they have been through and come to some kind of realization or turning point. The problem with Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows is that the motivations behind Hock's journey don't seem that believable. In the end I was confused about what Hock actually learned besides he lived a life he will forever regret.… (mais)

The Darth Vader miniseries have typically been quite good. This series may indicate that it is time to scale back the amount of these stories. I guess with the end of the license this happened anyways. This generally had an interesting plot, but did not have the weight of the previous series.
