A fun interactive story of a monkey at a supermarket. With simple text, moving parts, and vintage-looking pages, kids will have fun finding the monkey hiding in the supermarket. Instantly a favorite in my house with our youngest child.

(Copy was provided to read an review, thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss.)

Josh is a young kangaroo, a joey, and he loves to snuggle into his mother's pouch. When he grows older his mother tells him, he has now to sleep on the grass. Josh isn't very happy about it, he prefers his mother's pocket and tries to climb back in. But his mother says, there's no room for him now, because a surprise is inside, it's the most precious thing in the world and when Josh will finally see it, he will love it at first sight.

Josh is quite excited about it and asks all his friends. Do they have an idea, what it could be? He visits the koala, the parrot and the termites, but, of course, they can't be completely sure. Finally it's time for his mother to reveal the secret what's inside.
What will Josh think of the surprise, will he find it a good one and like it as much as his mother said he would?

Lovely picture book, which takes the young reader on an exotic journey to Australia with beautiful illustrations of kangaroos and parrots and more. The last picture in the book, which shows the whole kangaroo family together, is just utterly adoreable and it put a big smile on my face.
As always with storytime books from QEB, there's a next step page for parents and teachers, with suggestions for discussions and activities at the end of the book.
Very helpful little book, to prepare a child and open room for their questions and concerns, when a new baby brother or sister is on the way.
