I was just as impressed with this series of photos as I was with Mr. Thall's earlier work in "The Perfect City" (my first, and favorite, experience with his work.) He has an artistic eye/style that really moves me.
I saw an exhibition of the photos included in this book at our local art museum several years ago and was instantly in love. Not only does Mr. Thall have an artistic eye/style that moves me, his choice of subject matter speaks to me as well. I've always had a love of urban art, chicago, and photography - Mr. Thall captures it all in one. Not to mention, many of the photographs are taken in the same neighborhoods I lived in as a child, during the same years. That, of course, brings all sorts of sentiment into the art for me.… (mais)
