This book is a collection of short stories and poems about Native American. This is not particularly a book for small children, but maybe for young adults or children who may live on the reservations. These poems are both humorous and relevant to a Native Americans culture.

Reaction: Although this book is for adults, it is great read when wanting to add some culture to your reading. I love this book and all the short stories, at the beginning of this book it also has some short Kiowa songs.

Extension: With the short stories (in this book) it would be a great way to introduce another culture. We could show pictures, and make frybread. Another extension idea is to experience a powwow in real life or video, or bring a person in regalia to our classroom. It's always a great experience for children who have never heard of these terms.
