Pretty good book. It made me choke up and cry. There were some problems but they weren't enough to dim my enjoyment of the story.

I liked the world building as far as it went. You caught glimpses of the paranormal world without an info dump. The paranormal creatures were interesting and their motivations pretty par for the course in a paranormal novel. The part of the story that didn't make much sense was the bit about how the gargoyle world works unfortunately. If they are stone gargoyles on a roof during the day and men at night, when do they get to do any cool gargoyle flying/guarding stuff?

The romance was real good though although the hero does make a couple of stupid decisions. Near the end it was really angsty and I loved it. The actual ending was a bit too simplistic, quick and sexual in tone to fit well with all the angst which had just come before. There was plenty of sex in the story but there was way more paranormal plot and romance plot so that the sex scenes could be left out entirely and there would still have been a pretty hefty story left.
I hope there are stories about the other brothers as I would love to read them.

I want to thank the author for the gift of this book with no obligation for a review of any kind. So here's my totally honest one. :-)

This was a 2 star book until the end. I reserve my 1 stars for books I can't finish but events just conspired and I couldn't take it. I'm admittedly not a huge erotica reader, in part because I find is boring when written by most.

This book triggers several of my "ugs".
1. Language. Yes, they're having sex. Great. But really, my womb? That's a baby term, you don't feel things in your womb unless you're having some weird pre-term/pregnancy labor.
2. What I like to call the "Renesmee effect" - the "it's okay to pair off this toddler and this grown ass man, because it's not sexual yet" thought. Hell no. It's not okay. It's gross.
3. General stupidity by the characters. He gives up his "nights" for her, but doesn't tell her what it means, then springs it on her and is shocked when it doesn't go perfectly. Then some stupid thing keeps them apart. Had he simply kept things the way they were they could have stayed together all her life. Instead he risked everything and never told her, so instead he almost robbed them both. That's not drama, that's stupid.
4. The Guardians thing. I get it, men who guard are hot, but they do nothing! The imps go after her repeatedly and they do basically nothing. What is the point of being a Guardian, if you do nothing but hang out on a roof, or bitch about the girl dating your brother.
5. The end "climax" shall I say. Gross. Saw it coming, but still gross. And just as boring as every other sex scene. Writing sex does not = writing hot sex. This is why I never seem to like erotica. Your average romance writer writes much hotter sex.
6. The relationship. Yeah, she's nice, he's nice, but having sex does not equal charisma. Both boring, perfect looking, cliched characters. There's constant hinting of her doing things outside sex, and how surely, as old as he is, he has some secret history, but absolutely nothing develops but sex, sex and more sex.

For the right person this is probably a great book, if you like men of stone, sex for sex's sake and a plot that is all about getting to the next sex event, here you go! If you like plot, real adventure, and characters with depth, not going to cut it.

This was a little more convoluted a story. But emotional and interesting.

Stone Seduction (Stone Passion Twins, #2) by A.C. Warneke , is a fun, playful, sexy, romantic, paranormal read. The story takes place after “the veil” has been lifted; the world had gone through a transformation. As the little gnome had said, the veil had been ripped away and all of the creatures that haunted human imagination stepped into the light of day, or night in the case of nocturnal creatures.
Warneke, A.C. (2014-09-29). Stone Solitude (p. 26). . Kindle Edition..

Joss, our heroine is on the run from her ex, and has devised a plan to seek protection from the gargoyle Remus. She’s a strong, determined, mysterious woman, who will do anything to achieve her goal.

Remus, is a well aged, stubborn, alpha male with a wall around his stone heart, swearing to never permanently get involved with a woman, but once he meets Joss all beliefs are thrown to the wind.

The supporting cast is made of characters readers will recognize from previous A.C Warneke books, but if this is your first book from the author, the characters will make perfect sense and won’t be confusing. One of my favorite secondary characters was Alex, I hope he gets his own book, or gets a more prominent role in future books.

The book cleverly ties its two main themes – Remus’ twin Roman, and the romance between Remus and Joss together. The path to HEA is filled with wonderful family moments, quirky characters, magic, secrets, and a few challenges that must be overcome.

With every book I've read from this author, I’m amazed by her descriptive prose and imagination and it just keeps getting better. The book is well written, with attention to detail, evenly paced, the connection between characters is good, there’s just enough conflict and angst, and the erotic scenes are supportive of the storyline, leaving plenty of room for the readers imagination.

I must confess, I was supposed to read this as a beta, prior to final publication, but due to time constraints, I was unable to meet that goal. I wish to thank A.C. for including me as one of her beta readers. I read this book as a published version from Amazon KU.

For me this was 5 star read, and a great time spent with characters that are like friends.
