This is the first issue I've read and I really enjoyed it. So many details and facts that I had never heard along with musings and speculation on details that are impossible for anyone to know but the subjects themselves. Will definitely be binge reading every one of these.

Highly recommended for any beatnik devotee. The only down side is I ran in to some issues with certain statements being made far too many times and some writing that could be stronger. Still definitely worth the time!

“Beauty for beauty’s sake” seems to be the underlying motivation for the production of this tome. If there is a point to be made or argument to be advanced, one will not find either in the minimal text. Not to diminish the full color lovelies gracing these pages – for the most part movie stars, natch – but this volume seems to be nothing more than an excuse to present good-looking gals from Tinsel Town in various styles of swimwear.
Four chapters are devoted to four decades of women’s swimwear development: the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. With the exception of short essays prefacing each of these sections, which trace the interwoven development of Hollywood and the swimsuit industry, this book is composed entirely of photographs and their captions. Besides the movie stars and starlets themselves, there are illustrations of swimsuit advertisements and movie posters.
Other than nostalgia value, there does not appear to be any reason to purchase this book. Most male readers, this reviewer predicts, will gaze longingly over each photo once, than pass the tome on to a friend or co-worker. Potential purchasers: you’ve been warned.

Volume di grandi dimensioni con bellissime foto, alcune inedite, di Marilyn; imperdibile per ogni fan dell'attrice!
Uno dei migliori libri fotografici che le sono stati dedicati.
