Acerca da Minha Biblioteca

I like reading or re-reading literary classics, fiction set in exotic (to me) places, and mysteries. Topicwise, I'm drawn to tales of exploration, the immigrant experience, armed conflict and the lives of writers and artists. I read more non-fiction these days; memoirs, essays, history, natural history. I enjoy reading plays, particularly when I plan to see a live performance.

My LT library consists of books owned or borrowed that I have read, as well as cookbooks, travel and walking guides. While totally willing to snap up a book for impulse reading, I also like to set up criteria for monthly what-to-read choices. Currently my monthly fare includes a book by a Maine author or one set in Maine, a book by an author new to me, at least one translated book, and a non-fiction work. Most rewarding, every month I re-read a favorite from the past.

Acerca de Mim

I am a Maine native who at 18 could hardly wait to get out into the world. Now, in my 76th year, I have returned to the midcoast town of Camden. I am home! Two thousand essential books came with me, many still waiting to be read. But now I have a porch! I use and support three wonderful public libraries, gad about with my four wonderful sisters, host the many friends and family who want to savor the cool, salty Maine air, and with my husband, manage an Airbnb property downeast a ways.
