Sobre mimi majored in religious studies, but that doesn't make me a religious person. i did my senior thesis on self-immolation protests during the vietnam war and it is BADASS. you should read it or talk to me about it sometime.

i'm applying to grad schools to become a children's librarian. i've worked at the highland park public library in the youth services department for almost eight and a half years and absolutely love my job. i aspire to be a YA librarian, but being a full YS librarian would work too (i just spend all my time reading YA books.) right now my big project is choosing books for our department mock newbery discussion in january and our mock caldecott discussion in february. it's fun but it means i don't really get to read as many books off my list of 'to-reads' as i'd like to. my librarything imports to facebook, posting a book to my profile every time i finish reading it. i'm also scoping around to be a book reviewer for journals like SLJ, booklist, and voya. right now my reviews are limited to the HPPL YSD kids' blog, which is linked somewhere on here.
