Jeff Noon. Click on his name that I linked & you'll find a list of his books with link to reviews.
BTW, it's Vurt, not Vert.

Sorry forgot the touch stones! I Cant decide if it'll be too weird for me or not. I really enjoy Philip K Dicks books and i was recommended to try Jeff Noon but i dont really know i'll i will like Vurt or not

I hated it. Squicky incest and worldbuilding that only hangs together if you assume the entire thing, every one of the levels of reality that's portrayed, is embedded in a larger one -- something that's not at all hinted at by the text.

Yes it was this sort of thing that i was worried about, im probably not advanced enough to read it, i managed Philip k dicks stuff easily but this seems to be on a whole new level. Im going to play safe and leave it for the moment. Im on a roll and i dont want to ruin it with a dead end! Thank you Lorax

No, don't sell yourself short. It's not about being "advanced", or "smart", or "ready" -- it's about not liking that sort of thing. No shame in it.

:) it does sound too wacky for me. From what you and others have said i dont think i will enjoy it. I love thought provoking books and i like having to put my mind to what im reading but it has to make sense. I quickly loose interest and enjoyment if i cant make any sense out of what im reading. Do you have any other books that you could recommend that i might like?

I liked Automated Alice by Jeff Noon, and reviewed it, but probably won't read Vurt.

Yes that one had caught my eye too, it looks much better (and easier to read) than Vurt but i thought you would have to read Vurt first. If thats not the case then i will add Automated Alice to my wish list!

Nymphomation is probably also worth reading if you liked Automated Alice.

Vurt was in a way very much of its time and I'm not sure that it has the same power today as it did when first published.
