A mystery, fantasy, thriller, or Supernatural book set in a Circus

I really want to read a book that is in a Circus setting thats dark and mysterious, possibly even supernatural. Maybe even a thriller.

Maybe it's a Circus that appears out of no where in the middle of the night and strange things start to happen. All ideas are welcome!

I am struggling to find anything like this thats not all about romance so any recommendations that kinda fit into this would be great. (I don't mind if it has some romance if you have a book in mind, I just don't want it to be taking up the majority of the story).

My personal favourite circus novel is Spangle (not supernatural, it's historical fiction) but it can be a tough one to find.

Maybe Circus of Dr Lao

Possibly The Funhouse and Twilight Eyes from Dean Koontz. Both have to do with carnivals.

There is also a rather bad Alistair Maclean thriller: Circus

A recent one The First Bright Thing. Set in a circus in an alternate world where some people have magical powers, including time travel. There is some romance and a controlling relationship in it.

What about Morganstern's Night Circus ? I haven' t read it myself but it was a wildly popular Gothic melodrama when it came out in paperback a decade or so back.
