We can talk about almost anything.

Well, then, I'll take this opportunity to talk about the eclipse! We traveled from GA to IL, leaving the height of azalea and dogwood season to leaves barely on the trees, and I also gave myself (and DH, if the truth be told) two days of travel up and back. We were camping, and there's nothing worse than loading up camping equipment and setting up a tent when one is tired and a bit cranky.

And the eclipse itself was absolutely amazing. We went from shadows and the light looking pretty much the same, till the wind came (like it does at sunset) and everyone checking the moon's position with their glasses then going back to their business. Then suddenly *WHAM!* it was dark. The people went silent, the birds were quiet, and there was this sense of reverence. It was amazing to look at the sun at 1:00 in the afternoon, seeing a couple of planets (no comet, sadly), with all of its corona and the white light coming off it.

I highly, highly recommend everyone see at least one total solar eclipse in one's life. It is transformative.

The next one will be primed for viewing in Portugal, Northern Spain, and Iceland. Just sayin'!
