lotsa hipster design ideas, eye candy; nothing I'd burn to replicate, but fun. and great little projects in the 2nd half of book. also, good general how-to stuff at end.

Some of the DIYs are cute, but the homes on display are not so much shabby chic as great-aunt's-apartment.

I often find myself on Design*Sponge looking for specific ideas and this "best of" print compilation didn't disappoint. If you're looking for something to give you a "do this apartment and you will be living on the cutting edge of design," then of course it will be an exercise in futility since most of the trendy elements are over by now. On the other hand, if you're looking to see how creatives build room for their collections and personal taste in order to draw inspiration for tweaking your own space, then it's a winner. Plus, some of the projects look super fun. ( )
