Amish-born Lydia Ann and southern belle Caroline DeMarco both have many things in common (even though their lifestyles are miles apart). They have both lost their husbands and are trying to start anew in Lancaster County, PA. Lydia finds herself attracted to the handsome Amish farmer, Simon Zook, and Caroline finds a chance at real love in the journalist, Michael Landis. But Simon has a secret that keeps him from committing to Lydia Ann and Caroline has a secret she doesn't think she can share with Michael. As the front cover states: "Will love find a second chance" for both these couples who find themselves in Lancaster County?
I enjoyed the way the Amish folks and the 'Englisher s' worked together and had a real friendship in spite of their differences. It was good to read of their friendship instead of all the do's and don'ts that might keep them apart. A well told story and one I enjoyed to the very end. ( )
