Still digesting this translation. I've always been confused by the King James version; this translation helps a little bit. Read this for my class at Amherst College. ( )

Very interesting look at this book of the Bible. Stephen Mitchell really makes me think. I appreciated his extensive notes on his translation and his introduction was worth the price of admission! ( )

This is the most coherent translation of this Old Testament book that I have read. The poetry moves both emotionally and lyrically AND makes sense. Bravo to Steven Mitchell.
