This book of poems is not for the faint of heart!

It is for those of us with a darker sense of humor. Each page gives you a laugh and some very nice illustrations to accmpany the prose.

I was reminded of the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" series I read when I was younger.

This book is a series of pun-filled poems about how animals might die. They are humorous yet some are quite gruesome. I thought this book was going to be more appropriate for young children, but I was wrong.

The book offers a collection of dark poems. the poems are epitaphs of animals. Each poem is full of irony stressing a characteristic of different animals. Each epitaph explores creative writing to conquer children's laughs

This book could be used in a poetry unit to use as examples of short poems - and a play on words. Not to be used with younger children and they will not get the humor - more appropriate for middle and high school. ( )

This book is a very funny book making light of animals demises. The illustrations are all dark and coincides with death. I would use this in an English class when writing poems are understanding the usage of line breaks. ( )
